  • The review principle of Management Review takes the “importance” and “originality” of the paper as the two main considerations. Each author is expected to have made substantial and original contributions to the management field. Based on this principle, three kind of papers are more likely to be rejected: (1) ones in which the author slightly revises his/her previous research results, and uses similar theories or analytical models to the research; (2) ones in which the author adopts foreign theories or models to test on Taiwan’s real cases and enter-prises, which is a replication research without proposing new perspectives and integrating new ideas; (3) ones in which the author only slightly revises research theories and models which have been previously published abroad. On the other hand, pursuing originality in concept, theory, model, and method, as well as other considerations, may cause a paper to lack rigor and make it likely to be rejected by reviewers. Management Review reduces the requirements for rigor to accept innovative papers and encourage authors (and reviewers) to attach greater importance to the substantial and original value of every submitted paper.

  • Review process for submitted papers to Management Review undergoes “double-blind peer review” (the identity of both the authors and reviewers are kept anonymous), an approach which aims to reduce the possibility of reviewer bias. The author should avoid showing any clues of identification in their paper. If the reviewer can identify the author, he/she should inform the editor-in-chief immediately.

  • The author can recommend up to three reviewers when submission is due. Such recom-mendations should avoid the following relations:
  1. Colleagues working in the same department
  2. Dissertation advisors or advisees
  3. Co-author of research paper published in the past two years
  4. Co-host of the current research program
  5. Relatives
  6. Others who have a conflict of interest

  • According to the opinions from at least two reviewers, the Associate Editor will ultimately decide on the acceptance of the paper. The opinions of reviewers are crucial for the Associate Editor’s judgment, and opinions will be provided to authors for modification reference.

  • The Associate Editor will make the final decision based on the content of the review and will not use the “majority decision rule” to determine whether to accept the paper or not. If the quality of any given paper can be improved by modification, Management Review will give the author the opportunity to modify it and will assist the author to publish it a high-quality publication.
