The current issue of Management Review contains three academic articles.

The first article, “A Meta-Analytic Study of Perceived High Performance Work System and Job Performance” written by Meiyu Fang and H.Y. Yen, examines the relationships between perceived HPWS and job performance (including task performance and organizational citizenship behavior) by conducting Meta-Analysis on published or unpublished domestic and foreign research and journal articles from 2000 to 2020. Little HPWS research was based on the employee’s perception. This meta-analysis study summarizes the studies accumulated over the past 20 years and shows the strength of correlation in terms of effect size, whose results can be used as a reference for future research.

In the second article, “The Effects of Distrust on Online Shopping Intention－A Comparative Study between Cross-Strait Consumers” written by Kai-Hung Wang, Yao-Hua You, Tuo-Ming Huang and Cheng-Kiang Farn, the authors detail how distrust affects consumers’ online shopping intention from the perspective of dualistic product attitude. The results show that the positive/negative attitude towards product significantly affects the distrusting beliefs; distrusting beliefs in turn significantly affect the purchase intention.

The third article, “Policy Uncertainty, Financial Reporting Quality, and Investment Efficiency” written by Chi-Chun Liu and Lin-Hui Yu, explores the relationship between policy uncertainty, and investment efficiency, and whether this relationship is affected by the quality of financial statements. The results suggest that policy uncertainty is positively correlated to investment efficiency, and this correlation is more significant under the circumstances of worse financial reporting quality, indicating that companies with poor financial statement quality are more susceptible to policy uncertainty.
